BABY BASICS CLASS
Birthing your baby is one thing, but many wonder what life will be life after they bring their baby home!
In our Baby Basics Class, we invite you to get a glimpse of the joys & challenges the few few days, weeks and months at home with your baby may hold.
This class is full of fun and insightful tools and tips. We hope you will leave feeling more empowered at your parenting skills!

Baby Basics Instructors:
Jenna Karns, Senior Level Birth Doula, CD(DONA)
Jenna Karns is a Certified Child and Family Development teacher at BOCES. Jenna uses these skills to teach and support families at BBC. Jenna is a birth doula and also teaches our Baby Basics class as well as our Infant First Aid and CPR course.
Heather Hershelman, RN, IBCLC, Postpartum Doula
Heather Hershelman is a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She has worked as a labor and delivery nurse and then later went to become an inpatient and outpatient lactation consultant. A patient once told Heather, "You must do this work for the babies" and while Heather certainly loves babies, she especially loves to support new mothers and families as they find their way in learning how to care for and feed their new baby.
At BBC, Heather teaches Introduction to Breastfeeding and offers private, in-home or office (at BBC) lactation consults.
