Online Guided Spinning Babies® Parent Class!

Beautiful Birth Choices invites you to take our Online Guided Spinning Babies® Parent Class!

Spinning Babies® Parent Class is currently being offered as an online guided class due to COVID restrictions. When we are not under quarantine, Julia and Christy teach this class at the BBC studio as a three hour in-person class. What is the primary difference between the in-person class on the online guided class? With the online format, you have the unique opportunity to take the educational portion of the class directly from the creator, Gail Tully! You can watch the online video portion of the class at your leisure anytime in the week leading up to the session of your choice, in addition you will receive supplemental materials via email, AND you can access a one hour question and answer follow-up Zoom session with instructors on one of the class dates listed below.

What is Spinning Babies®?

Spinning Babies Parent Class Durham NC

Spinning Babies® is a unique approach to pregnancy and birth that optimizes the physical relationship between the bodies of the mother and baby for both more optimal fetal positioning during pregnancy, as well as ease of labor. The Spinning Babies approach focuses on the following:

  • Align the uterus for greater balance, which then leads to more optimal baby positioning
  • Release tight ligaments or muscles, for better alignment of baby and comfort of the birthing person
  • Support what’s loose in womb or pelvis
  • Open the pelvis for baby’s descent and birth

What is the Spinning Babies® Parents Class?

This three-hour class focuses on tips, tools, and body work that can influence the position of our baby during pregnancy and birth. The class additionally taps into the innate birth wisdom of parents, and the connection and bond between the baby and parent unit.

During this class you will learn about your baby’s position, techniques to help your pelvis and soft tissues have coordinated movement, how to relax or ‘release’ the body to create more space for baby, and how to use these techniques for your benefit during pregnancy and birth.

Have you already taken a childbirth class?

Perfect! While this class is not a comprehensive childbirth class, it is a terrific supplement to any childbirth class you may have already taken, and – this is a great refresher for second time parents! The additional learning and hands-on work will be a huge benefit to you as you near your due month and labor with your baby.

It’s helpful if you have a basic understanding or overview of the childbirth process, so taking this class after your childbirth class of choice is preferred.

When should you take this class?

Ideally, you will take this class after week 20 in your pregnancy and before week 34 to allow yourself time to learn and practice the techniques each day.

here is an overview:

  • Daily Essentials exercises
  • How to Rest Smart and Move Smart in pregnancy and in birth for more optimal fetal positioning
  • How to bring balance to your body and to your pelvis for birth
  • Basic anatomy of the pelvis, muscles and ligaments that play a role in birth
  • The levels of the pelvis and how your baby rotates through each level
  • Variations of labor patterns and what you can do to help
